Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell today announced a $518,000 investment to help start-up company Santelli Tempered Glass establish its first manufacturing facility in a 25,000 square foot space in the Monessen Riverfront Industrial Park in Westmoreland County and create at least 40 new jobs over the next three years.
The $518,000 financial package offered to Santelli Tempered Glass through the Governor’s Action Team (GAT) will help the company begin manufacturing safety glass for the residential window industry.
“We are excited to be locating our manufacturing operation in the Monessen Riverfront Industrial Park”, said Joe Santelli, President of Santelli Tempered Glass. “This facility represents a strategic location for our company’s manufacturing and distribution operations, as we plan to market our products to businesses within a 250-mile radius. This area’s strong work ethic and skilled workforce were also major factors in our decision to locate here.”
GAT is comprised of economic-development professionals who report directly to Governor Rendell. With the help of the Growth Connection of Westmoreland and the Westmoreland County IDC, the Department of Community and Economic Development and GAT offered Santelli Tempered Glass a $518,000 financial package that includes a $500,000 loan through the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund and $18,000 in Job Training Assistance.
The Governor’s Action Team serves as a single point of contact for businesses that are evaluating Pennsylvania as a site for a facility location or expansion. GAT works with domestic and international businesses, as well as professional site consultants, on projects involving significant investment and job creation opportunities.
