The Perryman Co., a manufacturer of specialty titanium products, is planning to embark on a long-term expansion project that will add three buildings to the California, Pa., campus in the California Technology Park and “backwards integrate” its supply lines. Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell today announced the investment of $3.15 million in state funds to help Perryman Co. in Washington County expand and create 150 new, high-paying, manufacturing jobs over the next five years.
The Perryman Company manufactures specialty titanium products for the aerospace, medical, recreational and automotive markets and is a worldwide leader in the titanium industry with bar, coiled rod, net shapes and hot rolled products. The company is headquartered in Houston, Washington County, with offices in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and London.
The $3.15 million financial package offered to the Perryman Company through the Governor’s Action Team will be used to help construct three buildings totaling approximately 85,000 square feet. It will also give it the ability to melt titanium ingots. Construction is scheduled to begin next month on the facility, which should be fully functional in early 2007.
“Perryman Company is proud of its Pennsylvania roots and is thrilled to be able to remain in a place where the goals and values of the area's work force match those of our company," said Frank Perryman, a partner in the company.
The Washington County Redevelopment Authority worked with the Perryman Company on its long-term expansion project. DCED has offered the company a financial package totaling $3.15 million that includes $2 million through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, a $405,000 Opportunity Grant, $150,000 in Job Training Assistance and $600,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits.
The Governor’s Action Team serves as a single point of contact for businesses that are evaluating Pennsylvania as a site for a facility location or expansion. GAT works with domestic and international businesses, as well as professional site consultants, on projects involving significant investment and job creation opportunities.
Since January 2005, the GAT has successfully completed 101 projects that have resulted in commitments for 8,590 new jobs and 22,508 existing jobs to be retained.
