Liqui-Mark Corp., manufacturer of writing instruments, plans to purchase and renovate a 30,000 square foot building in Hauppauge. The project is expected to relocate all jobs from a Westbury location to the Hauppauge facility and create ten jobs within the next three years.
Liqui-Mark Corp. has been manufacturing writing instruments for over thirty years. Founded in Brooklyn in 1974, the company eventually moved to Westbury after experiencing an influx of new business. Liqui-Mark has established itself in the following markets: discount retailers, office product super stores, educational wholesalers, drug store chains, supermarket chains, the toy industry, and school districts as well as federal, state and local municipalities.
Major customers include Dollar General, Family Dollar Stores, Hobby Lobby, Shopko, and School Specialty. In 1985, the company began to market products under its own Liqui-Mark brand.
“This is a major step in Liqui-Mark’s growth,” said Irving Wolbrom, secretary-treasurer of Liqui-Mark. “Our expansion continues, even in the face of overseas competition. We have maintained high productive efficiency and good employee relations, and look forward to a great cooperative relationship with Suffolk County and the State of New York.”
In consideration of its commitment to New York State, Liqui-Mark Corp is eligible to receive a real estate loan of up to $1,200,000.
