Hayward Pool Products, a manufacturer of swimming pool equipment, announced that it will invest $10 million in Forsyth County during the next three years. The announcement was made possible in part by a $100,000 One North Carolina Fund grant.

A market leader in the pool industry, Hayward Pool Products is a manufacturer of pool and spa equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, automatic pool cleaners, controls, colored lights, values, accessories and other general pool and spa equipment. The Clemmons plant, which serves as the company’s East Coast distribution center, currently employs about 700 workers.

The 75 new jobs will be primarily skilled manufacturing positions. The expected average weekly wage of the new jobs will be $990 plus benefits, which is significantly higher than the Forsyth County average of $632, not including benefits.

"Since Hayward opened the Clemmons plant in 1995, we have been pleased with the quality and skill level of the local workforce," said Don Alcorn, plant manager of the Clemmons facility. "We have also maintained a positive rapport with the state and local governments. With generous assistance from the One North Carolina Fund, Hayward will continue to support the state and local community by investing in additional training for our employees."

The One North Carolina Fund assists the state in recruiting and expanding quality jobs by providing financial assistance to businesses or industries deemed by the Governor to be vital to a healthy and growing state economy. Through the use of this Fund, more than 17,000 jobs and $2 billion in investment have been created since 2001.
