Cardinal Health Inc., the leading provider of products and services supporting the health care industry, announced today that it will establish a customer-care center in Central Arkansas, bringing up to 500 new jobs to the area.
The 71,000 square foot facility will be located in Sherwood at the Furniture Row Building at 5426 Landers Road. It is expected to be operational in early 2006.
Cardinal Health officials were joined by Governor Mike Huckabee, Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce Chairman Ed Drilling, Metro Little Rock Regional Alliance (MLRA) Chairman and Entergy Arkansas President & CEO Hugh McDonald and other regional economic development and business leaders at this morning’s news conference held at Chamber offices on Markham Street.
“Our customers rely on Cardinal Health to help them provide superior patient care, and therefore we take very seriously the service infrastructure we are building to support them,” said Steve Peale, vice president of customer service project management of Cardinal Health. “Our goal is to provide the best customer service in the industry and to support our customers with all of their needs. We see Little Rock and the state of Arkansas as ideal for the recruitment of talented employees who can help us achieve this goal and continue to grow our business for the future.”
The new FTD order entry and customer service center in Sherwood, expected to be operational in mid-October, will create approximately 250 new jobs for the area, and the new Ring Container Technologies plant at the Little Rock Port Industrial Park will create 35 jobs.
The customer-care center will provide support Monday through Friday for Cardinal Health’s 50,000 customers in the United States, including hospitals, pharmacies and physicians offices.
