Dell Facility Brings New Supplier to Piedmont-Triad of North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 31, 2005) — Dell has selected World Wide Technology for supply-chain management of components used in computer systems manufactured at Dell’s new facility in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Dell has selected World Wide Technology (WWT) for supply-chain management of components used in computer systems manufactured at Dell’s new facility in Winston-Salem, N.C. The St. Louis-based company will lease 34,000 square feet of warehouse space in the Deep River West I Building on Pegg Road in High Point, N.C. and plans to initially hire 20 employees by early September.

In North Carolina, WWT will provide Dell material planning, procurement, inventory management and replenishment. The agreement is an expansion of the Dell/WWT Alpha Supplier Program, through which Dell was able to consolidate relationships with more than 50 suppliers to WWT, further streamlining its production process.

WWT currently has operations in Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; Reno, Nev.; and West Chester, Ohio, where it provides full vendor-managed inventory support at Dell U.S. manufacturing facilities and fulfillment centers.
