Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech Survey
Findings from a key survey include that more than half of respondents still use a manual process for route planning, load building, dispatching and tracking. Logistics Forum and e-Supply Chain Forum 2002 eletter
Sixty-five percent indicated that better planning could save them 6-30% in transportation costs. More than 2/3 of respondents considered software the ideal method for planning. The top three constraints of implementation were complexity of environment, organizational culture, and overhead cost.
